It’s been plenty hot enough on the range for the last few weeks – plenty of hats and sunscreen in evidence .. and elsewhere Tynedale archers have been on fire for the first 2 weeks of August! First up was Sarah & Ariel who headed off to the UK transplant games held in Sheffield and they both bagged 1st place and the gold medals for the respective classes.
Then it was Ryan at the County Novice champs hosted by Durham City Archers and he was ladling out the custard (lots of yellows!) in the Western round (4 doz @ 60yds and another 4 doz. @ 50yds) to claim 1st place in Recurve.
At the same time as that was going on Paul & Rob headed off to the biggest outdoor comp in the country – it was the British Target Championships @ Lilleshall which involved a WA1440 (144 arrows .. 36 @90m,70m, 50m & 30m!) on the Saturday and a WA720 (72 @ 50m) plus Head-to-Head matches on the Sunday. Paul placed a very creditable 35th in his first comp at national level and Rob put in some strong scores to finish 6th.
